Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was contacted by engineers from Deming, NM. to locate any utilities known or unknown running through there area of concern in a slab of concrete. The engineers needed to make sure there contractors were not going to come into contact with any utilities live or abandoned within the slab. In order to safely saw cut the trench the engineers needed to know the locations of any utilities within the areas of their future trench and the depths of the findings. GPRS was able to come on site within 24hrs of the requested job and safely locate the entire trench area. GPRS marked all utilities inside the slab of concrete along with the depths, the depth of the reinforcement steel, and the depth of the concrete throughout the warehouse.
Ground Penetrating Radar Systems used a GSSI 1600 MHz antenna for this application to locate the reinforcement. All findings were marked directly on the concrete with crayon at customers request for easy interpretation and easy clean-up of the marked areas. GPR emits no radiation and is safe for others to work in the area near the scan location. All Ground Penetrating Radar is real time data that is displayed and can be marked with 1/8” accuracy as the GPRS technician is scanning.
