Ground Penetrating Radar Scan Performed to Locate Utilities - East Hanover, NJ

Ground Penetrating Radar Utility Scanning - East Handover, NJ
Above is a photo of the soil boring locations
that were marked onto the asphalt by GPRS.

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC. - GPRS - of Northern New Jersey was contacted by an environmental consultant to locate any utilities near 7 proposed soil borings at an active gas station in East Hanover NJ. A 10 foot x 10 foot area was scanned and findings were marked with spray paint around each proposed soil boring to allow the consultant to have options on soil boring placement as well as for the potential of needing to step the soil boring out for any reason such as refusal. GPRS is able to interpret the data and mark any findings in real time so that the consultant and driller could work directly with GPRS to solve problems and move the soil borings to clear locations. The consultant was able to advance the soil borings safely and gain the necessary info to further their investigation thanks to GPRS.

Ground Penetrating Radar is a great tool to scan areas for locating underground utilities before drilling soil borings, digging, or excavating, as well as locating underground storage tanks or tank “graves”. GPR can also be used to scan concrete and locate rebar, post tension cables, and conduits, including PVC pipes.
