GPR Scanning to Locate Multiple Lines Along Thirteen-Mile-Long Pipeline – Monument, NM

Utility Locating for Pipeline
GPRS New Mexico Utility Locating for Pipeline Firm

Above, you can see Ryan finding out that the gas line marked prior to Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC., coming out to the site was more than 6 feet off of the plans figures. If the customer only used the information gathered by the plans they could have easily stuck a gas pipeline. Not only could this have been a costly fix but could have also gotten someone seriously injured as well as possibly shut down the project until the line was fixed.

A pipeline company was preparing for the excavation of a twenty-four-mile-long pipeline. Ryan Dennis with Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC., was called out by one of the contractors in charge of the project to scan several miles of the property to verify the location and depths of multiple types of lines including communication, irrigation, water, sewage, power, and gas lines. Ryan was able to verify the location of multiple unknown lines as far as 4 feet in depth. The surveyors were on site and ready to record the findings and locations with listed depths to provide for the contractors. The client was then able to then take that information and incorporate it into their figures to make the appropriate modifications prior to excavation. Originally the client believed they could solely rely on the findings of 811, and the pipeline plans.
